Important Dates

We are thrilled to have each of you joining us for a fantastic year of learning and fun.  Please see below for some important dates and reminders: 



August 10th, Thursday  –  Walk-in Registration/Verification  - 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M


August 18th, Friday –   Meet & Greet for ECE and Kindergarten – 8:00 – 9:00 A.M.

Meet your classroom teacher & other new classmates! Front office and individual classrooms will be closed during this time.

  • ECE students will meet their teachers on the front lawn
  • Kindergarten students will meet their teachers on the back playground
  • Popsicles and light refreshments provided
  • Stop by the front lawn to see our Enrichment classes offered this year

SKCEE PTA Playdate – After the Meet & Greet

                                                  On the Playground from 9:00 – 10:00.

                                      Light breakfast Snacks will be served.


August 21st, Monday – Parent Orientation – Parents only please (no school for students) Only Prescheduled Assessments and Orientation for Parents

Meet with the principal to discuss the schools policies/procedures, transportation, after school enrichment programs, and more!

Please bring your child’s school supplies

  • Individually scheduled assessments will occur outside of orientation times

Cory Kinder & Advanced Kinder Parents

10:00 – 10:45 – Meet in auditorium for orientation with the principal

10:45 – 11:30 – Meet with your child’s teacher in the classroom

Full  Day  ECE Parents

12:30 – 1:15 – Meet in the auditorium for orientation with the principal

1:15 – 2:00 – Meet with your child’s teacher in the classroom

Half  Day ECE Parents

2:30 – 3:15 – Meet in the auditorium for orientation with the principal

3:15 – 4:00 – Meet with your child’s teacher in the classroom


August 22nd, Tuesday  – ECE Welcome and Transition Day and Assessment Day for Kindergarten

  • No school for Kindergarten  or ECE Students
  • Individual assessments all day for Kindergarten students – assessments will be scheduled in advance by teachers
  • Small Groups of ECE students will come to get to get to know the teacher and classroom throughout the day
  • Times will be scheduled in advance by teachers


August 23rd, Wednesday – First Full Day of School for 3 and 4 Year Old ECE Classes and Kindergarten Students

8:30 – 11:10 ½ day morning

12:30 – 3:10 ½ day afternoon

8:30 – 3:15 Full day


September 4th, Monday - NO SCHOOL – Labor Day


September 27, Wednesday  - Back to School Night 5:30 – 6:30


October 4th, Wednesday –  Author Visit with Kathryn Otoshi from 4:30 – 5:30

Donations Needed We just broke ground on our new school garden. We are in need of items for our new school garden. Please email Patty Paul at Patricia_Paul@dpsk12.org if you are able to make a donation for our new garden.

Interested in Giving School Tours?

It’s school choice season! We will have lots of families coming in to tour our wonderful school. Last year we earned more than $500 for our school.  Let’s go for $1000 this year!
