Dear SKCEE Families,

This week’s parent letter will have messages for kindergarten, and ECE families about remote learning, and upcoming events. There are also links to helpful resources and information for families.

• Kindergarten Town Hall Meeting (for SKCEE Families) will focus on kindergarten parents starting remote learning on August 24th. We will also discuss safety precautions being put in place for in person learning.

• Curbside Pick-Up and Drop-Off: If you are unable to access required licensing forms on-line we can offer the following service. Also, if you have completed the forms we accept them curbside. Packets will be available on:
  • Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 2, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

We will accept children’s school supplies at curbside, please have them in bags or boxes labeled with child’s name and teacher’s name. You may also drop off library books from the last year.

Please drive up to the front of the school and stay in your car, one of the friendly SKCEE staff will be there to assist you. All forms will need to be completed and at the school PRIOR to the start date of September 8, 2020.

Kindergarten Parents: Edukits that were purchased last spring will be available to pick-up at the above times also.

Coming Soon

• ECE Parent Town Hall for ALL DPS ECE parents. This ECE Town Hall meeting will be held by Mrs. Hopkins Early Education Executive Director: Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
• Parent Office Hours: There will be office hours for parents to speak with the principal. Times and sign up information will be communicated soon.
• The SKCEE Website is currently being updated. It will include class schedules, resources for students to use for remote learning, and teacher contact information.

Kona Ice Park and Serve Fundraiser

We are celebrating the start of the 2020/21 school year with a special Kona Ice park & serve event. Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. (Note: this is for pick-up at two locations, not home deliveries.) 20% of all sales go to our school! Pre-order in a pick-time in advance through the link below so that we can maintain social distancing. Walk-up orders are allowed as well. Thank you!

Please join the PTA and attend our monthly meetings. We are hosting our first meeting on Wednesday, September 16, where we will be sharing more about our plans for this year.
