Dear SKCEE Families,
We are so excited to see our kindergarten students return! As many of you know, Kindergarten students return to in person learning this coming Tuesday, September 29th. Please don’t forget there is no school remotely or in person Monday, September 28. Teachers will have professional development and preparation time for students to return. Our faculty and staff have been working diligently to welcome students back to a safe and engaging environment. I hope that all of you can join us for the Kindergarten town hall this evening. We will review new safety guidelines for the school, and there will also be time for general questions. Please be sure to review the rest of the newsletter for important information about safety regulations, upcoming events, and arrival/dismissal times. Happy Friday!
Sincerely,
Matt Johnson
No School September 28th: There will be no school virtually or in person Monday, September 28th. Teachers will use this day for professional development, and our staff will use this time to clean and sanitize the building.
This is the daily checklist we use to monitor symptoms. Please review the checklist before arriving at school each day. Thank you for your cooperation!!
There are lots of wonderful things happening in our ECE classrooms. Our students are learning routines and getting acclimated to these “new norms.” We miss being able to have more parent involvement and we thank you for working with us and keeping compliant with COVID guidelines and restrictions. We understand that this year is unusual, but we can assure you that we are all in this together! Look for more classroom specific updates from your student’s teacher.
Please join us for the Kindergarten Town Hall this evening, September 25th from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Join online or by phone (US) +1 510-766-0674 PIN:

Thank you to the SKCEE families that contributed to the window screen fund! Through your generous donations, we are able to put screens in all of our classrooms. We are purchasing the custom-made screens through Ace Hardware Cherry Creek (next door to Little Kickers Swim School), which is giving us a significant discount. If you have hardware store needs, we encourage you to support this local store and thank them for supporting SKCEE!
We are excited to host this year’s first “dine/take out” fundraiser at Chipotle (820 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver) on September 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. Order dinner for dine-in or take-out and be sure to tell them you are with Stephen Knight Center for Early Education. Chipotle will donate a portion of the proceeds from our orders back to SKCEE!
As many of you have noticed, we have 4 reserved parking spots in the front of our school. This year, we are auctioning them off again, to raise funds for our SKCEE PTA. These funds help us support our school and teachers, such as the $100 Amazon gift cards we were able to just send to each of them. The best part of having your own reserved parking spot is that even if you’re late, you will always have a place to
park.
Place a bid! The auction will be open until midnight on Friday, October 2nd. If you have any questions, feel free to contact sandra.ellen.tucker@gmail.com.
We still have spots available on a few of our volunteer committees! If you are interested in getting involved, volunteer opportunities and committee signups are available. Also, it’s not too late to join the PTA––if you haven’t already, join today and attend our next virtual meeting on October 21, at 5:30 p.m.
