Hello SKCEE Families!

Our CSC is now up and running having had our DPS training session. The next meeting will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 4:00-5:00pm. We continue to need one more parent for our committee. Additionally, we are in need of a community/business person (non-parent of SKCEE) to be a member of CSC. Do you know of anyone who might be interested? Please direct them my way. Thank you!

Spring Parent Conferences are coming! 💕 Conferences will begin the week of March 14, 2022. You will receive specific information in the coming weeks about Spring Conferences from your child’s teacher. 🦋

ECE Families: Friday, March 11, 2022 is a non-student contact day as indicated on the DPS ECE Calendar.  The Rocky Mountain Early Education Conference is an opportunity for ECE teachers across the city to gather together and learn.

Kindergarten Families: Your child will have school on Friday, March 11, 2022

ALL Families: Friday, March 25, 2022 will be a non-student contact day for SKCEE. Schools have the opportunity to schedule one Accelerated Learning Day. The day will focus on looking at student data and development plans for the remainder of the school year. Thank you for your understanding.

👀We are continuing to follow district guidelines, so beginning Monday, Feb. 28, masks will be strongly recommended for all staff, students, and families but not required in school. Masks will still be required for students when riding the school bus. We are asking you to please have a conversation with your child regarding the choice you have made as to mask wearing. Teachers will do their best to encourage students to follow your decision, however they cannot force students to wear masks if they repeatedly choose to take them off. Please be respectful of your child’s teacher, and other classmates’ choices to wear a mask or not.

Respectfully,

Additional COVID-19 Guidelines

Our COVID-19 plan and procedures continue to be guided by medical and public health expertise. Our health partners made this decision based on high rates of immunity and lower rates of severe disease. Here are the latest isolation and quarantine guidelines that will go into effect on Monday, Feb. 28:

  • Isolate for 5 days: If you test positive for COVID-19, if you have symptoms and are waiting for test results, or if you have symptoms and have not yet been tested. If at the end of 5 days you are feeling better and have no fever (without fever-reducing medicine) for 24 hours, you should take extra precautions for 5 more days, such as wearing a mask at all times and avoiding travel.
  • Isolate for 10 days: If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are unable to wear a mask while in school during days 6-10 (such as people with disabilities who are unable to wear a mask or children under age 2) you should isolate for 10 days after an exposure, even if your symptoms have resolved before day 10.
  • Quarantine for 5 days: If you have been directly exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual AND you are not vaccinated or have not received a booster dose of the vaccine, you should quarantine for 5 days.
  • No quarantine required: If you are fully vaccinated and boosted but have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you do not need to quarantine, but should wear a mask for 10 days after the date of your exposure, and get tested on day 5.

Please continue to monitor your students for illness symptoms and keep them home if they are sick. We also know that getting vaccinated is the best way to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
