Hello SKCEE Families!
👀 Update to the principal selection process: SKCEE welcomes Shelley Boberschmidt as the principal for 2022-2023 and beyond. I have worked closely with Shelley over the years and am thrilled for SKCEE that she will be at the helm! She brings an extensive leadership background and community involvement spirit with her to the SKCEE principalship. She begins her transition to SKCEE by joining me in upcoming CSC, PTA, faculty/staff meetings, and other SKCEE events. Please see her attached letter to the community.🦋
Our SKCEE instructional committee has worked on some exciting programming changes for our SKCEE learners beginning 2022-2023. I will be sharing data and programming updates at our upcoming CSC meeting on April 14th at 4:00pm. Meetings are open to the public and are a hybrid format of in person at SKCEE or on the CSC Google meet link.
💕Our transition to being able to have parents/guardians walk their late arrival student(s) to the classroom, and also have parents pick up their child from the classroom for early dismissal needs has been a welcome change! ❤️ Thank you for the smooth transition and understanding of our new procedure as we return back to some pre-COVID structures.
👀 👍As a reminder: Parents/guardians will need to come to the main office doors, check-in at the office and receive a date stamped sticker to wear, indicating checking into the office. A tardy slip will be given to you to give to the receiving classroom teacher. The parent/guardian will walk their child to the classroom for a quick sign-in (ECE licensing requirement) and quick parent release of the student. The same procedures will occur for students needing early dismissal. (Check-in at office, wear a sticker, give early dismissal slip to teacher, sign-out student if ECE). While teachers welcome this shift, we want this shift to be a minimal interruption to classrooms. Please do not use the time to “conference” with teachers so that their full attention may be given to the students. Please remember to exit the building at the front doors for security reasons. 🦋😍
Thank you to PTA for the wonderful lunch provided to the staff from Birdcall. Yum!! Please see the PTA Scholastic Book Fair information below. Also, coming soon from the PTA is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please watch for coming updates and ways to be involved.
Please see the important Field Day information below from Sara Whatmore.!

📚Library Update
💕 Thank you to those that volunteered for helping our student library get up and running. We are waiting for a training date from the DPS library services and will communicate the date to those that volunteered. After our training, we will be opening our library again. If you are interested in joining our volunteer group, please let me know ASAP so that I may add you to the training list 😀.
