KINDERGARTEN Families: SKCEE/Cory Shuttle Registration Open

Posted August 3, 2023

Good Afternoon Kindergarten Families,

If your child qualifies to ride the SKCEE/Cory shuttle, it is now time to sign up.  The window will close on August 18 and then reopen again on September 5.

The shuttle picks up and drops off at Cory Elementary on Florida St. In the morning a SKCEE para will get the students off the bus and escort them to the Kinder playground. In the afternoon there will be a Cory employee receiving the children off of the bus and making sure an adult is there to pick them up.

  • AM pick up is generally around 8:05 am
  • The bus departs SKCEE at 3:20 pm

Here are the qualifications:

  1. Your child MUST be in Kindergarten for the 23-24 school year.
    1. Due to strict licensing policies we cannot put a preschooler on the shuttle. There will be no exceptions made.
  2. You must have a sibling attending Cory Elementary to ride the morning/afternoon shuttle.
  3. If it is more convenient for your child to ride the bus in the morning, we will work with you as well.
  4. Some exceptions are made, if you have a child at C3 or Merrill we can arrange for your kindergartener to ride the bus, but an adult must be there to put them on the bus in the morning and pick them up after school.

Please note that you can choose to ride the bus in the AM or PM or both. We will work on that schedule once you are accepted to ride the bus. I’m not sure how quickly DPS will move, but as long as we have your information, your child can start riding the bus Wednesday, August 23. We just need you to have an exception form filled out with transportation.

We will also have a sign up in the kindergarten classrooms during the Meet and Greet so we have a general idea of who will be taking the bus.

How to Submit

Exception Requests will only be accepted via the online form located in the Parent Portal. (NO PAPER FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED)

  1. Once logged in, the Exception Request form can be found under the Quick Links section of the Transportation Services page.
  2. All requests will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis,  and families will be notified of the approval or denial of the request via the email address provided.
