Dear SKCEE Families,
As you may be aware, we have been using a variety of measures to ensure our school stays open and our students feel comfortable during extremely hot days. Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Despite our efforts, some of our classrooms rose to almost 90 degrees today. I am writing to let you know that we will have an early-release Heat Day tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st. School will be released at 12:15. AM Preschool will have a normal 8:15-11:15 day.
There will be no PM preschool classes, no Discovery Link, and no afternoon kindergarten Cory shuttle bus.
Breakfast and lunch will both be served tomorrow.
I understand this is short notice, an inconvenience for many of our families, and that childcare may be an issue for some. We follow a district protocol when making these difficult decisions, and appreciate your support as we get through these final hot days of summer!
