Happy Halloween!

Dear SKCEE Families,

It was great to see all the families and students having fun with costumes today! I know this is different than what we traditionally do, but the faculty, staff and students really enjoyed it. Please check out the pictures below to see some great costumes.

I know that many of us may be concerned about the news released by Mayor Hancock stating that Denver is currently at “Safer at Home Level 3.” I want to reassure you that this does not mean the school is shutting down and we are fully returning to remote learning. We will continue to conduct
in-person learning until there is official communication sent from Denver Public Schools stating that we are discontinuing in person learning. Please review the link here, if you would like more information on what Safer at Home Level 3 means, and how it applies to Denver Public Schools.

Even though ECE teachers aren’t currently participating in remote learning, they will still be communicating with families if the district is required to return to full remote learning. In addition, ECE teachers will gather and share resources with families through the SKCEE Website. If you have any
questions or concerns, please feel free to sign up for office hours so we can further discuss any unique needs you may have. I know we can get through this. You all have been incredibly flexible, resilient and creative during this time. Let’s keep using these strengths to do what’s best for our students, our
community and each other.

Best Regards,
Matt Johnson M.Ed.
Principal of Stephen Knight Center for Early Childhood Education

Illness Update

This year we are addressing illnesses differently. Please note the important information below to help determine when your child may return to school. If your child’s symptoms resolve within 48 hours and there are no symptoms for 24 hours without medication, they may return to school. If your child’s symptoms last more than 48 hours, they may return to school after 10 days from the onset of the symptoms, IF symptoms are resolving and there is no fever for 24 hours without medication.

Alternatively, if you receive a medical diagnosis to explain the symptoms, your child may return to school when they are fever free without medication for 24 hours and other symptoms are resolving. Please share any diagnosis from the provider when your child returns to school. Please update both the office at 720-424-6503, and the health office at 720-424-6505, with updated information regarding your child’s health.
