Welcome to the 21-22 School Year!

Dear SKCEE Community,
On behalf of the Stephen Knight faculty and staff I would like to say welcome back!  We are extremely excited for the first day of school on Monday, August 23rd! We have many exciting things happening this year.  We have a newly remodeled gym and cafeteria (photos are coming soon), a new air conditioning system, and a new curriculum to meet student academic and social emotional needs.  Updates and further details will come each Friday moving forward.  These updates will provide helpful information about what to expect in the upcoming weeks, as well as some important updates from Denver Public Schools about new health mandates.   

 Important Updates:

  • Mask Policy: Students and staff do not need to wear masks while outdoors but are expected to wear masks inside the building.
    • We humbly request that parents continue to wear masks during the arrival and dismissal of students.
    • Please refer to the Denver Public Schools Website here and the Health and Safety Guidance Document here for the most current health and safety guidelines. 
  • Registration Updates
    • Online registration is open now! We encourage all families to save time and complete registration through your Parent Portal. Please click here to log in or to create your Parent Portal. For more information regarding registration and to access the online registration family navigation guide please click here. Please call the front office if you need your student’s ID number at 720-424-6500.
    • We will also be hosting in person registration for those families who are not able to complete registration online. This is an optional event for those who cannot complete online registration. We will be outside the school on Wednesday, August 18th from 8:00 am – Noon and from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Please be advised that the building will not be open for access to bathrooms or classrooms. 
  • We are currently finalizing classroom rosters. Please be advised that the placement of your student in his/her classroom will not be final until Monday, August 16th. That being said, information in Parent Portal will not be up to date until Monday, August 16th as well. 
  • Bell times for this year are 8:15 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.  A detailed overview of staggered start and stop times will be posted on the website August 16, 2021.
  • We are working with Cory Elementary to support arrival and dismissal for families that have students in attendance on both campuses.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • August 16, 2021 – August 18, 2021: Homeroom teachers will contact community members via an email or phone call.
  • August 20th -Meet & Greet with Teachers! 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.  This will be your chance to meet your student’s classroom teacher in an informal outdoor setting.  
    • Teachers will be on the SKCEE campus blacktop.  This will be an opportunity to drop off school supplies if you like.
  • August 23, 2021 – First day back for students!  Staggered Arrival and Dismissal Times are coming soon, and will be available on the SKCEE Website
  • August 27, 2021 – Virtual Back to School Night
    • This is a great opportunity to hear more about the exciting year ahead for your child, as well as new resources for parents! (More information to come soon…)
