February Family Newsletter

Posted February 3, 2023

Dear SKCEE Families and Friends,
Welcome to February! A huge shout-out to our amazing PTA for organizing so many wonderful activities for our students, families and our staff. The Snowball Dance is a perfect example. Our school was filled with so much joy last night!  Thank you PTA!
Speaking of joy, welcoming you all into the building in the morning and in the afternoon is one of our favorite responsibilities. We love to see your children and have a touch point with you. Even more than that, we are grateful for the opportunity that each of you have to connect with other families. We see people exchanging numbers for play dates, deciding to go get coffee and we hear tidbits of conversations between grown-ups and kids, all in multiple languages. Preschool and kindergarten are our kids’ first opportunity to develop relationships and they are a perfect time for us, as adults, to build those bonds as well. We are so glad you are all here!
Because we are greeting you at the doors, we are not supporting the right turn upon your exit from the lot at the corner. Please remember to turn right when leaving our parking lot to expedite departure and most importantly for safety!
During this month of friendship and love, we are grateful for all of you, and yours! Happy Valentine’s Day.
In partnership,
Principal Shelley and Assistant Principal Aimee
UPK and DPS Choice: The deadline for the first round of DPS Choice is 4 pm, February 14. Please make sure you have completed both UPK and DPS Choice for preschool and DPS Choice for kindergarten. We would love to see all you back at SKCEE!

Visitor’s Badges: We are so glad to have you visit and volunteer! And… our visitor badges have gone missing. Please take a look in your pockets, on your coats, and in your cars and return them to Ms. Staci if you find one! Thank you!
Mammoth Lacrosse Game: Ms. Shelley has 8 free tickets to tonight’s Mammoth game at 7:00 at Ball Arena. They are courtesy of Kroenke Sports and must be used and cannot be sold. If you are interested, email Ms. Shelley ASAP with your ticketmaster email account and the number of tickets you would like: shelley_boberschmidt@dpsk12.net
Nanny share/Daycare ideas: Cory Starkey, one of our SKCEE ECE teachers, will be returning in August and needs a place for her son, Jack, to hang out while she is here. If you are interested in a nanny share, or know of a good day care close by, please let her know: cory_starkey@dpsk12.net.
