Sept. 23, 2021
Dear Stephen Knight Center for Early Education Families,
Multiple faculty members have informed us that they are sick. Please note that there have been no positive COVID tests. Therefore, these are not quarantines. These are teachers who are not feeling well enough to conduct their classes.
Given this news, DPS leaders approved a school closure for Friday, September 24, due to staffing shortages. This is considered an operational closure. This was a collaborative decision, made with the support of district leaders. I fully acknowledge the great disruption and inconvenience this causes your family and child. I sincerely appreciate your grace and flexibility as we navigate these uncertain and challenging times.
ECE and Kindergarten students will not attend classes at school or have remote learning. ECE families will not be charged tuition for September 24, 2021, due to this unexpected closure.
Discovery Link will not offer services tomorrow Sep 24, 2021 due to the school closure. Discovery Link will continue to have “Camp Day” September 27, 2021, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please contact Mrs. Maria Trujillo, Discovery Link Program Supervisor, should you have any further questions about services.
Contact information for Mrs. Maria Trujillo.

All children can return to the school building for in-person learning Tuesday, September 28, as Monday the 27th is a no student contact day.
If you have further questions, please contact me or your local public health agency.
Best Regards,
Matthew Johnson M.Ed.
Principal of SKCEE
